The Lever Lock, like the Pin Tumbler Lock, is one of the most common type of lock in use today by both domestic & commercial property. In domestic applications you will usually find a mortice lever lock used in conjunction with a Rim cylinder lock (night latch) where additional security is a priority, normally for insurance purposes. All lever locks, in principle, operate in the same way, though the amount of levers within the lock, and additional security features will determine how difficult the lock is to open.
