Two Day Lock Opening Course

On our two-day course you will open an array of locks, including so called 'Thief resistant locks'. We will cover all the most common types of lock in use today, used by both domestic & commercial premises. You will learn to pick open Pin tumbler locks, Wafer locks, Padlocks etc. How to open 2, 3 & 5 Lever Non BS Lever locks, And 5 lever BS3621 anti pick/drill lever locks.

You will learn how these locks work by stripping & rebuilding them. Numerous opening techniques will be shown, such as Picking and manipulation using various specialist tools. You will learn and use by-pass techniques such as Mica card and the letter box opening tool. The course is fully 'Hands-On'. There is no need for any student to spend time taking notes as all the information you need is contained in the course manual each student takes away at the end of the training.

The course is designed, most importantly, to give you a good insight into the Locksmith trade and is the ideal starting point to becoming a Locksmith. The skills you aquire on this course are designed to be advanced upon, and this you can do at a pace to suit both your abilities, and budget. Your success is important to us and we will assist you in any way we can.

Courses are run on a Saturday & Sunday, unless otherwise advertised, throughout each month. Each day starts at 9.00am and finishes at 5.00pm.

Pin Tumbler Locks

The pin Tumbler lock is probably the most common type of lock in use today and is used in many applications. The most popular and well known is the Cylinder lock, that most people refer to as a 'Yale type lock'. Other types of Pin Tumbler lock include; Euro, Oval, Bullet, Roller/Shutter, Common padlocks.

The wafer lock is found on - Garage doors, Vehicle locks & Ignitions, File Cabinets, Drawers, Fruit & Vending machines, Lockers, etc.
