I don't recommend getting any tools yet as it can cause some bad habbits. Watching some of the vids can give you an insight into how some locks are picks and manipulated, but take some of them with a pinch of salt?

There's a few books out there but most of them don't actually teach you lock picking, more on how locks work etc. One of the best books I have found is the 'Visual guide to Lock Picking'.
