A thin sharp paint scraper or two is good for removing glazing beads, avoid any contact with the glass, start from the center of the longest beads prizing gently away from the frame, If poss leave the top bead till last as it supports the glass from falling out while removing the other beads. Any upvc supplier will sell bags of packers.

You can also buy boxes of packing pieces in various sizes on ebay.  Only cost a few pounds.

I use a small rubber mallet for tapping them back in place, tapping being the operative word.

Thanks, i notice that there is a rubber seal on the trim does this come off with the trim or do you have to remove the seal first.

No that should be connected to the white trim, it should all come off as one piece. Have a search on You Tube i am sure someone will have done a demo video on the proper removal and replacement procedure.

just a little note on beading and security of the window, if you come across beading that is fitted on the outside, knowing how to open them is fine BUT to stop the window from being taken out for security, silicon the inside seal of the window from the inside, so to remove the window the inside seal has to be cut with a blade to brake the seal, other wise the window could be taken out and replaced without somone noticing. just a little tip to stop the wrong people from getting in easy.
