i got a sterling lock that i can pick and a securefast i cant. the locks are the samesort only the securefast has got anti picks top and bottom, i have tried high and lows looking for the bind. 1mm at a time there must be a method for this lock.

someone said this is the way

Hi Stuart regarding the above using S wire and black Securefast which the curtain throws the bolt.

Insert the tension tool and picking wire note the angle of the lollipop which normally is parallel to the floor.

Nudge each lever between 1 and 2 mill only looking for the tight lever i.e no movement or showing resistance.

Repeat through the lever pack until bolt moves back.

By only moving levers slightly you cannot over lift the levers.

Apply slightly more tension and check levers the one's that still move are correct, the ones that don't move need to be lifted higher.

Go under the tight lever ease off tension and lift higher.

Repeat until the lock opens a lever which is picked will make a funny dong noise only on the Securefast.

Hope this helps.

it is killing me helppp

About 3 meetings ago we were going to make some reader keys at the monthly meeting but there was that much going off we never got around to it. I think jay has some masters you could cut some from, I have some blanks you can have, if you want to confirm with jay that he can make some, I can post them direct to Jays.

This link looks interesting but a bit expensive

If you come across these locks regularly and as screwfix sell them they are going to  be out there, the SV Decoder is worth having. I have one and its very easy to use.

I just look for binding levers, picking resetting, picking resetting etc to get a picture of the lock. The technique of easing back a little on the tension on tight levers does work though, and I find it's normally the last lever to lift before opening.

Hi everyone, I am a firm believer in using whatever is available (and the price is right) to achieve anything.

Stu I know you are a keen 'Picker' but as I've said before 'don't beat yourself up'

Picking is for pleasure-opening is for business, whatever the method.

Looking forward to seeing you all at next meeting, should be a cracker.

PS If drinking is involved I will have to stay over, any B&B's Travel Lodge etc close to where we are 'studying'
