On a recent call to change a cylinder and fit a new mortice lock. I was very surprised to see that the only lock on the rear door was a Legge cylinder with nightlatch. So I changed the cylinder and fitted a new mortice deadlock. (By the way NO letterbox)
Why then this post for a simple job........Inside the door frame close to the lock somebody had put 2 clout nails probably to stop anybody trying to slip the lock. Simple but effective.
Finally the property was on the market and I noticed they had left keys in the patio doors (not double glazed) or bolted which I had to point out to the owner. The price of the property £980,000 plus, but poor securtiy.

Yep, perhaps the rich are too arrogant to be robbed. A few weeks back I fitted garage door locks at a property. The front door had a single yale cylinder and the 2 other doors that I saw had 3 lever mortices fitted. So what you might say. Well the garage was next to the swimming pool block and infront of the tennis courts. The 2 luxury 4 x 4s and the executive convertible were on the drive awaiting the arrival of a supercar (hence the garage door locks). The garage was bigger than my house and the drive longer than my street. What more can I say. Locks are low down on some peoples list of things in life, or pehaps they don't realise they need them.

You will see it all the time Mick. Security is often something neglected until it's too late!
