I am struggling to pick a union curtain lock, it’s an old lock and nothing feels very smooth when lifting the leavers. Is it a good idea to spray the lock with wd40/gt85 etc. Or would this just make it harder to get the leavers to bind?
Any advice would be welcome Thank you & Kind regards Mick

It's fine to lubricate with a penetrating fluid, WD or GT85 etc if the lock feels sticky and tight. It won't affect the picking.
Lever locks are prone to attracting a lot of dirt and a lot of people put all sorts of grease and lubricant in them which can make it worse!

Hi Jay, I gave the lock a squirt of Gt85, picked in about 2 mins. Locked it and picked again just for fun. Good old GT85
